The cleaning of the horse's hooves are important as part of maintaining his good health.
I stand next to my horse, facing his tail,
using my hands, I run them down his leg till I reach his fetlock, I
press a little above it and slowly pick up his hoof toward the back,
never to the sides as he can loose his equilibrium..
With the pick, which I use from the top of the hoof
to the back, I clean it out of any debris. I just don't let go the hoof
when finished, I gently put it down on the ground and proceed the same
way with the next hoof.
